    About Anthony

Anthony, or Tony as he was known, has spent a lifetime focused on and immersed in the English language.

Reading Proust at an early age and subsequently meeting and corresponding with one of Proust's close friends propelled him into a life that would result in millions of words analysed and written.

Tony's expertise and depth of understanding was very well regarded in the world of publishing in London, where he worked as an editor for many years.

He tended to keep himself to himself but made a good friend in Adolf Wood during these years.

He took early retirement and spent the last decades of his life in a home full of books, his writings, observations and notes.

His other interests were painting, classical mussic, and chess. A truly cultural man with an immense depth of knowledge from an age now departed.
